 The FU International Academy, which specialises in teaching Spanish to foreigners, opened in 2000 and belongs to the German F+U group. We offer a wide variety of courses: individual courses, intensive group courses or special courses such as "tourism & hotel business". You will easily find the right course for your needs.
The academy has excellent facilities. There are 10 bright classrooms, a lecture hall for up to 60 people (with video beamer and Dolby-Surround System) as well as three computer rooms with High-Speed Internet connections. The classrooms, coffee bar and sun terrace extend over 2,000 sq.m. and provide a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere in which to learn and relax.
All the staff are university graduates and are native Spanish speakers with many years of teaching experience. Some of them also have a good knowledge of English. To achieve the very best results we give lessons in small groups. The school aims to make lessons lively and interesting. While teaching all aspects of grammar, reading and writing we also place great emphasis on conversation.
The café’s large terrace catches the sun all day so you will be assured of a warm welcome. Enjoy a tasty sandwich, bocadillo (filled roll), croissant, hamburger or toasted sandwich. Our lunch dish is freshly cooked every day and like all the choices is excellent value for money.

The Canaries form one of the most attractive regions in Europe. They are located in the Atlantic Ocean and only 115 km off the coast of Africa. The Canaries are made up of 7 islands: Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and a few smaller ones.
Tenerife is the largest island and there is a population of more than 650.000 inhabitants. The capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and La Laguna, the University City, are the two biggest and most important residential and commercial areas.
The language school is situated in Puerto de la Cruz which was once a small fishing village but is now a popular tourist destination. It is renowned for its charm, its friendly people and of course its mild, sub-tropical climate.
The town is situated on the noth coast in the Valley of La Orotava, the greenest and most beautiful area of the island. In the town of Puerto de la Cruz you will find a large pedestrian zone, plenty of restaurants, hotels, bars and shops.

 Flights and transfer |
The flight and any other transportation to and from your destination is your own responsability. It is recommended to look around at the different air lines since they often have special offers and the prices can differ a great deal. If you have problems finding your flight please don't hesitate to ask us for assistance and we will do our best to help out.
You can book airport transfer from the airport and in this case there will be a chauffeur waiting for you at the airport. The chauffeur will drive you to your accommodation and also give you a welcome package with information regarding your first day in school.

 What happens on the first day |
You are expected to show up at the reception desk of the school at 09:00 on your first day of school.
An information meeting will be held where you will be given practical information, Since you will be doing a small placement test at home before you arrive the lessons will start the first day.
